The Real Pros and Cons of Cat Breeding: My Honest Experience as a New Maine Coon Breeder
Welcome everyone to my blog.
A look at the pros and cons of raising cats.
I raise the most important raccoon cats, and I'm a completely new breeder. However, I've discovered a lot and learned a lot about the consequences of raising cats, especially since it's a very gradual approach. It takes at least a year to get started, but most of the time it takes longer than that.
Most people get into raising cats as kittens, so you wait for them to grow up, while learning all the things you need to know to prepare for the kittens on the ground. I also realize that I'll be mentioning a lot of cons and only a few pros, but I promise you that doesn't mean I don't love what I do.
It's just the reality of breeding. Ultimately, the pros clearly outweigh all the cons. If they didn't, I wouldn't choose to do it. My passion for the breed and improving the breed makes it all worth it in the long run. My entire goal for this blog is to be very transparent with my visitors and perhaps offer some advice or help to those who are starting their breeding journey or are considering venturing into breeding. After all, For the first time, it's been really hard to find genuine, raw, and transparent advice from breeders.
Sometimes I feel like breeders can be a bit secretive about the finer details of how they run their cattery.
I also know what it's like as a potential consumer trying to buy a purebred cat and wanting to understand the ethics of how a breeder operates and how they care for their cats. I'm trying to figure all that out before deciding to go ahead and buy a kitten from that breeder. So my blog is also about helping those people.
